Meet Matthew Lee Robinson

Previous engagements include vocal workshops and masterclasses for the Arthur Miller Foundation Fellows Program, New York; Broadway Dreams, New York; Open Jar Institute, New York; Voice Academy NYC; the New York City Department of Education’s Professional Development Program; the iTheatrics Junior Theater Festival, Atlanta; the Educational Theatre Association, Dallas; FOX 8 TV Australia’s The Singing Office; and Musical Theatre programs internationally.

As a songwriter, Matthew has developed new works for DreamWorks Animation, Los Angeles; Coca-Cola Amatil, IBM, and Nintendo, Australia; the Australian Open Tennis Championships Legends Series; the Australian Theatre for Young People; and the Emmy-nominated TV series Dance Academy. His original works have been heard in concert at Carnegie Hall, Broadway’s Future Songbook Series, and the Sydney Opera House with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. His musical theatre works include ATLANTIS (Virginia Repertory Theatre), The Magic School Bus (TheaterWorksUSA national tour), the five-time Helpmann-nominated Metro Street, and the Neil Gooding Productions-led revue Sing On Through Tomorrow. Matthew is a Churchill Fellow and the recipient of the Pratt Prize for Music Theatre, Australia Council Music Fellowship, and UTAS Stephen Schwartz Songwriting Award.

On stage, Matthew has performed various roles for Opera Australia at the Sydney Opera House: Freddy Eynsford-Hill in My Fair Lady, Henrik in A Little Night Music, and Frederic in The Pirates of Penzance. He has played the title role in Pippin (Peter Cousens’ Kookaburra) and was a member of the original Australian cast of MAMMA MIA!.
